Frequently asked questions Before your assessment

What you wanted to ask.

If you are considering starting a process with AMORH, here are the most direct answers. If your question is not listed, a message on WhatsApp is all it takes.

Getting started

A 30-minute call, by phone and at no cost. It is there to understand your situation, clarify what you want to change, and propose a clear first objective with a concrete plan of work. When it ends, you decide whether to continue.

It is not a therapy session: it is a brief clinical assessment to guide the process.

No. The CVI is always at no cost. It is 30 minutes by phone to understand your situation and point you in the right direction. When it ends, you decide whether to begin a therapeutic process.

No. Many people come to us when something starts to affect their work, their sleep, or their decisions, without any visible crisis. If something is not working the way you would like, that is reason enough for the initial assessment. There is no need to wait until you reach your limit.

From the contact page, using the calendar. You choose a time that works for you and receive confirmation by email. If you have questions before booking, message us on WhatsApp.

No. Many people arrive without a precise idea of what is happening to them, only with the sense that something is not working the way they would like. The initial assessment is precisely what helps begin to name it and guide the process.

No. We offer individual and couples psychotherapy, both for adults. Most processes are individual; if your situation involves couple dynamics, we look at that from the initial assessment.

The therapy process

Sessions last approximately 50 minutes.

It usually begins with weekly sessions. As the process advances, the frequency can be adjusted to your situation and objectives.

Because the process starts from observable objectives from the beginning. We do not work toward a vague sense of feeling better; we work toward concrete goals that are reviewed continually: changes in symptoms, decisions, habits, or relationships.

It depends on your situation and objectives. In the initial assessment we define an initial path and review progress as the process evolves. No fixed deadlines and no promises about timing.

We work with the AMORH Psychotherapeutic Treatment Model (MTPA): integrative, evidence-based psychotherapy structured in 3 phases. The techniques are adapted to each case according to the therapeutic objective.

Yes. The psychotherapeutic chat between sessions is part of the clinical process from the start, not an add-on. It provides continuity between sessions and a way to process what comes up during the week, without losing the thread of the process.

Yes. What you share is protected by professional confidentiality and the ethical principles of clinical practice. Only the clinical team involved in your care has access to your identifiable data.

As part of the MTPA, cases may be reviewed by the team anonymously, with no data that identifies you: several perspectives reduce the bias of individual judgment and sustain the quality of the process. The limits of confidentiality are explained from the first session.

If there is imminent risk to you or someone else, emergency care is what matters most. Outpatient psychotherapy does not replace that kind of intervention, and being honest about that is part of how we work.

Format and access

The main format is video call. Therapy by video call can have the same results as in-person therapy when it is done with a trained professional and in a private space. In-person care with our psychologists in Tijuana is available on a limited basis and is evaluated during the initial assessment.

Yes. Many of the people we work with are bilingual adults connected to the San Diego–Tijuana region. AMORH is a Mexican clinical practice operating wholly within Mexican professional jurisdiction; we neither hold nor claim licensure in the United States, and our care is rendered and received within that same scope, by video call or in person in Tijuana.

Three things: a private space where you can talk without interruptions, a stable internet connection, and headphones, which improve privacy and reduce noise. We coordinate the rest from the initial assessment.

Yes. Our team is fully bilingual. You can speak in the language you feel most comfortable in, or switch depending on the topic. It is not translation: it is native care in both languages.

No. AMORH sees adults, 18 and older.

Don't see your question here?

Let's resolve it in the initial assessment. It is not a therapy session or a commitment: it is to get to know each other and see if we are a fit.
